Interviews with a Twist.
Meet the fearless Tim Roberts
What is your title? Vice President Sales.
Where were you born (and why)? To spread the message of marketing-driven, high-impact, customized trade show exhibits ... to the world.
Where did you go to school? I'm still going to school. Every day I learn from my employees, my customers. I learn something at every show we attend. And I use that knowledge to create better, more innovative, more effective trade show booths for clients.
What kind of student were you (nerd, jock, brain, burnout, etc.)? I wasn't the kid selling elevator passes to the freshmen, but I did his marketing.
Your best job (and why?) This one. I am surrounded by exceptional, experienced professionals and working in a highly energized environment. Plus, I get to boss people around.
Why did you start Catalyst Exhibits? I became aware of the lack of exhibit companies that considered their client's marketing goals and the absence of creativity in the industry. Plus I always wanted to be the chieftain. I'm power-hungry, don't you know?
Can you tell me what qualifies you to be running this company? I have 14 years of experience in the exhibits industry and have worked on projects of all types and sizes for both large and small companies. Ok?
When you're not turning the exhibits world upside down, what do you do? I wash my car. In fact, I can't seem to stop.
Are you glad they're letting us put our own butter on the popcorn now? I was not aware of that development. But it sounds good to me.
What characteristic do you MOST despise? Leaders who don't take responsibility. I take personal responsibility for everything that goes on at Catalyst. The buck stops here.
Can you tell me why should I work with you people? We'll make your company look like an industry leader--and make you a company hero.
