All About The Machinery
The International Plastics Showcase occurs every three years and is known as the world’s largest plastics exposition, conference and technology exchange. With a show that attracts more than 65,000 attendees and hosts 2,000 exhibitors it is important to create and execute a design that will stand out.
Catalyst Exhibits was asked to showcase Husky’s full portfolio of injection molding equipment and reconfirm their position as the premium systems supplier to the injection molding industry.
The challenge: create a design that is engaging and interactive while incorporating a focal point – an injection molding system that was over 800 sq. ft., 34 ft. high, and required a 1225 sq. ft. auxiliary room.
The Catalyst design team worked to create a space that was an experience for each and every attendee. While making the injection molding system the “star of the show”, it was also important to showcase Husky’s full portfolio and capabilities while ensuring all elements of the exhibit reflected Husky’s corporate brand.
Husky also tasked Catalyst with adding a number of conference rooms and an additional hospitality suite to host existing and prospecting clients. They wanted to incorporate a space that would be the “oasis away from the chaos of the show floor”. Our design team was able to propose a layout and traffic flow that allowed for a double deck around the injection molding system to hold additional conference rooms and a hospitality suite on the ground floor. The second story, where additional conference rooms were placed, served as an area to meet with prospective clients while also having the opportunity to take in a bird’s eye view of the injection molding system.
With a number of different eye-catching elements of the design – large, graphic structure around the whole space, 3D graphic lettering to showcase Husky’s name, a large LED screen and multiple LED monitors to conduct demonstrations and showcase product information, etc. – attendees were drawn to the space from all parts of the show floor making Husky’s space packed through the entire show.
